Frequently Asked Questions

What & Who is Aarchitects?

Aarchitects LLC is me, Jeffrey P. Agnes AIA, (ie. Agnes Architects) an award-winning registered architect since 1988 (About).

I grew up at Shea Architects (1988-1995), became a principal and owner at SteinDesign (1995-2000), then founded Aarchitects LLC in 2000.

In 2001 I was invited to office within the larger architectural firm, Collaborative Design Group, Inc. (CDG), which continues to present.

What is your specialty?

Aarchitects is known for retail/restaurant work having won awards and been published for several successful commercial projects.

Less known, but no less extensive, Aarchitects has much experience with Office and Healthcare clients and projects (Work). I have done, and enjoy doing, a little bit of everything except single-family residential,  I'm not a psychiatrist.

(CDG) specializes in multi-family residential and public sector work.

Why Aarchitects?

Aarchitects' clients don't have to compromise. They get the lower fees, one-on-one service and focus of a one-person architectural firm with the manpower and capability of a larger firm.

I office within the multi-disciplined full-service architectural firm (CDGand when/if needed source their staff.

It's win-win-win. CDG gets work without marketing, I don't have to manage employees which allows me to keep my overhead/fees down and stay focused on what I do best, and clients get an experienced and accomplished principal architect at the typical hourly rate of a project manager.

What are your terms and conditions?

Most of Aarchitects' work is recurring with existing clients and on an as-requested hourly plus reimbursable basis.

Larger efforts may require estimates. Yet larger efforts may require a fixed fee.

For new clients, I typically require a small down payment and that fees be paid in full before release of signed documents.  Once a new client becomes existing, these conditions are waived.

CDG staff time is charged without any through-cost or up-charge to the client.

Are you licensed and insured?

I am a licensed, registered architect and fully insured with coverage and limits comparable to a large architectural firm.
